The Tuscan Maremma between Capalbio, Monte Argentario, and Orbetello

An authentic corner of Tuscany, where nature, history, and the sea meet.

Our apartments are strategically located, 5 to 20 minutes from the most enchanting gems of the Tuscan Maremma: an area offering authentic experiences amidst pristine nature, historic villages, and crystal-clear sea. An ideal holiday for those who want to relax without giving up culture, good food, and outdoor activities.

Capalbio, known as “little Athens,” is a charming medieval village perched on the hills, just a 10-minute drive away. Its ancient walls can be explored on foot and offer breathtaking views of the countryside and the sea. In the heart of the town are the Rocca Aldobrandesca, the symbol of the village, and the Church of San Nicola, which houses precious 15th-century frescoes.

A few kilometers from Capalbio is the famous Tarot Garden, a one-of-a-kind art park created by the French-American artist Niki de Saint Phalle: an explosion of shapes, colors, and symbolism inspired by tarot cards.
Nature lovers can visit the WWF Oasis of Lake Burano, the first Italian oasis, a protected area perfect for birdwatching and peaceful walks immersed in a unique ecosystem. Just a stone’s throw from the oasis, the wild beaches of Macchiatonda and Chiarone offer golden sand, natural dunes, and wide open spaces, ideal for those seeking relaxation and silence.

Monte Argentario, connected to the mainland by the natural sandbars of Giannella and Feniglia, is a promontory of rare beauty just a 20-minute drive away. Here the landscape alternates spectacular cliffs and hidden coves, ideal for swimming, snorkeling, or simply relaxing in the sun. Among the most popular beaches are Cala del Gesso, Cala Piccola, and the long Feniglia beach, flanked by a pine forest crossed by a convenient cycle path.

At the foot of the promontory lie the picturesque seaside villages of Porto Santo Stefano and Porto Ercole, perfect for a sunset stroll among artisan shops, seafood restaurants, and sea views. Both retain fascinating Spanish fortifications, such as the Spanish Fortress and Forte Stella. Porto Santo Stefano is also the starting point for boat trips to the islands of Giglio and Giannutri, natural paradises with crystal-clear waters.

For those who love outdoor activities, Monte Argentario offers numerous scenic trails for hiking and mountain biking, with spectacular views of the cliffs and islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. Its clear waters are perfect for diving and snorkeling among seabeds rich in marine life.

Completing the picture is Orbetello, a town located on a strip of land between two lagoons, connected to the Argentario promontory by a historic dam. Its historic center, with Etruscan origins, is home to noble palaces, ancient churches, and the evocative Spanish Mill, immersed in the lagoon. Here you can enjoy traditional lagoon dishes, stroll along the Leopoldina dam, or discover the nature of the Feniglia Dune Reserve.

Choosing our apartments in Capalbio, Monte Argentario, and Orbetello means immersing yourself in an authentic region rich in natural beauty, ancient history, and unforgettable food and wine traditions.
